4 Aug 2020: "Somnia" by Allie Jo Dreadfulwater

Last night

the middle self

strewn bare across

the starry sky behind

my closed forehead.

I flew as the great

Blue Morpheus!

Eating

enough dust to

preen my scales

and tidy the Wind;

Essence of Ajna,

  1. I like it!

    Great images like stars with dust. Blue morpheus is my favorite phrase although maybe not for your intended purpose. I googled it because I didn't know if it was a bird, and now I know it's a butterfly, a very beautiful butterfly too.

    But in the Matrix, Morpheus offers Neo a choice between a blue and red pill. Neo chooses red, and and we can assume Morpheus did too. But this idea of a Morpheus who takes the blue pill, a blue Morpheus! is awesome to me.

    I love your concise word choices for this poem.
