1 May 2020: "We thirst at first..." by Emily Dickinson

WE thirst at first,—’t is Nature’s act;
  And later, when we die,
A little water supplicate
  Of fingers going by.

It intimates the finer want,        5
  Whose adequate supply
Is that great water in the west
  Termed immortality.

-Emily Dickinson

  1. Our natural wants, desires and needs...when we really donʻt need so much at all. In death, we release all want and desire and no longer have the need for need. So beautiful.
